Monday, July 12th, 2010: Braves, Cardinals Trade Players
Several Braves and Cardinals players soon will have to start shopping for a new home. It was announced today that the two teams came to agreement on a trade. Atlanta will get 27-year old catcher Yadier Molina and St. Louis will pick up 27-year old starting pitcher J.P. Howell and 25-year old minor league reliever Lee Hyde in return. "I'm not surprised by the news," one of the players told reporters, "It's part of the business and I understand that. I am looking forward to playing for the Braves."

This season-to-date Howell has 4 wins and 7 losses and a 3.97 ERA.

This season-to-date Molina has 1 home run and a .270 batting average.
Monday, July 5th, 2010: Braves, White Sox Agree to Deal
The general manager of the Atlanta Braves has signed off on a trade for Chicago's 32-year old shortstop Joe Crede, 29-year old closer Bobby Jenks and 19-year old minor league center fielder Stanley Cash. To complete the deal, the Braves will send 23-year old minor league closer Tyler Wilson, 28-year old minor league shortstop Enrique Cruz, 26-year old minor league reliever Luis Valdez, 21-year old minor league closer Benino Pruenda, 25-year old minor league starting pitcher Jaime Vera and 21-year old minor league shortstop Anthony Hewitt to the White Sox.



Thus far this season in 62 games Crede is batting .288 with 6 home runs, 26 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 57 hits in 198 at-bats.
Saturday, June 26th, 2010: Duke Gets Shutout
Braves pitcher Zach Duke did his job today, blanking the Oakland Athletics at Turner Field. He scattered 4 hits while striking out 4 in the 4-0 shutout.

In 14 starts this season Duke has registered a 6-7 record and a 4.50 ERA.
